چکیده
Atomic force microscopy (AFM) belongs to the high-resolution surface morphology investigation methods. Since it can, in many cases, be applied air, samples can more easily inspected than by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). In addition, several special modes exist which enable examination of mechanical and other physical parameters specimen, such as friction, adhesion between tip sample, elastic modulus, etc. tapping mode, e.g., phase imaging used qualitatively distinguish different materials on surface. This is especially interesting for polymers, evaluation energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) mostly irrelevant. Here we give an overview experiments filaments 3D printing fused deposition modeling (FDM). Furthermore, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), poly(lactide acids) (PLAs) with features, thermochromic or photochromic properties, are investigated compared SEM images.

Nanoscale electrical characterization of semiconducting polymer blends by conductive atomic force microscopy (C-AFM).
For the first time local electrical characteristics of a blend of two semiconducting polymers were studied with conductive atomic force microscopy (C-AFM). The investigated mixture is potentially interesting as the active layer in plastic photovoltaic devices. Besides conventional topography analysis of morphology and phase separation, the internal structure of the active layer was investigated...
متن کاملPhase and microphase separation in polymer blends
When two different polymers are mixed, they usually demix because of the slight repulsive interaction that exists between their monomers. This is general and may be related to phase separation in two component mixtures. When the same polymer blend is cross-linked in the one phase region, elastic forces develop and do not let this to occur. There results a microphase separation, with coexistence...
متن کاملEffective Parameters on the Phase Morphology and Mechanical Properties of PP/PET/SEBS Ternary Polymer Blends
In this work, ternary polymer blends based on polypropylene (PP)/ polyethylene terephthalate (PET) /poly(styrene-b (ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene) (SEBS) triblock copolymer and a reactive maleic anhydride grafted SEBS (SEBS-g-MAH) at various compositions were prepared by co-rotating twin screw extruder. The effects of PET, SEBS and SEBS-g-MAH compatibilizer on morphology of the blends were ex...
متن کاملEffects of compatibilizer on immiscible polymer blends near phase inversion
e consider the effects of adding a PIB-PDMS diblock copolymer as a compatibilizer in model lends composed of polyisobutylene PIB and polydimethylsiloxane PDMS . The ratio of PIB to DMS was varied from 20:80 to 80:20 and, hence, these blends are dubbed “concentrated” blends. ost experiments were conducted on blends containing 0.01 or 0.1 wt. % compatibilizer. All lends had a droplet-matrix morph...
متن کاملOn the mechanism of pinning in phase-separating polymer blends
We re-explore the kinetics of spinodal decomposition in off-critical polymer blends through numerical simulations of the Cahn-Hilliard equation with the Flory-Huggins-De Gennes free energy functional. Even in the absence of thermal noise, the solution of the discretized equation of motion shows coarsening in the late stages of spinodal decomposition without evidence of pinning, regardless of th...
